Vice Governor Inauguration in Upcoming December

Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ T Purnama revealed that the inauguration of the new vice governor would likely be done in upcoming December.

The inauguration will coincide with the inauguration of mayors as well as sub-district and urban village heads who will be replaced

“Current vice governor is different than the vice governor inaugurated by the president. Now, I will be the one to inaugurate vice governor, and the inauguration will coincide with the inauguration of mayors as well as sub-district and urban village heads who will be replaced. We’ll do massive inauguration in upcoming December,” he stated, Thursday (11/27).

According to Ahok, he already has the name of vice governor candidate to be submitted to President Joko Widodo. But, he must be patient to wait for the Government Regulation as a derivative of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) No. 1/2014 on the Election of Governor, Regent, and Mayor to be issued first.

Ahok: Next Vice Governor is Not an Artist

His vice must be someone who is willing to work fast and can adjust his rhythm. The reason is because the tenure is only three years left. Ahok also ensured that there is no political deals regarding vice governor’s post.

“We don’t talk about political party’s share, okay. We’re talking about whether the person can work or not and can accompany me or not. We need someone who really has the experiences, can work, and clearly proven. This is Jakarta, cannot play games. The important thing for me is how to finish the job in Jakarta,” asserted Ahok.
